Sunday 2 September 2018

2–4 minutes

The sermon this Sunday was delivered by Peter and Pat Kingham visiting preachers Peter and Pat Kingham. The message was split into 2 parts – “Greatest days in history” which tested our date recall and “Saved – so what? Being the faithful servant.” The Holy Spirit was certainly with us today! Our singing would have certainly roused the locals who were having a lie in! Several of our regulars were back from holiday or returning to visit for a long spell. These included: Dorothy and Martin Cook and David and Laura Mimiskin making this our highest attendance to date.

Our prayers this week centred on the many whom are in pain or grieving, in particular Glynis Davies and the passing of her husband Ray two weeks ago.

TELL OF MIRACULOUS HEALING

Simon and Rachel Adams live in Seoul, Korea, and have recently visited Simon’s parents, who are deacons at the church. Rachel, who is Korean, comes from a strong Christian family and is a concert pianist, but in April of last year she had a life-changing accident when her taxi was struck by a bus. She endured months of excruciating pain, which meant she had to use a wheelchair around the house and made it impossible to sit at the piano. Eventually at Christmas Simon took Rachel (still with the wheelchair) away to a Christian retreat in Thailand for a much-needed break and it was there that the miracle occurred. Having made the great effort to travel so far, Simon and Rachel extended their holiday by a couple of days, just long enough to meet another Christian couple, whose ten-year-old son prayed for Rachel – and by the next morning all her pain had gone and full mobility was restored. When Rachel went back to the high-tec, state-of-the-art hospital in Seoul, the doctors were amazed and Rachel’s medical notes concluded with “Healed by prayer”!

It is a fact that Rachel was being prayed for by numerous people in many countries and her story has now gone around the world, giving much hope to others. Rachel demonstrated her fully returned piano expertise and gave her testimony in detail as the congregation listened intently.
