Glynis Davies

Glynis Davies – Benitachell Christian Fellowship.

Glynis was born in Wales then as a military wife she lived in Hong Kong and Germany. She had always been a churchgoer but committed her life to Christ in Germany in 1978.  A year later she and her husband Ray joined the Salvation Army, the day before they left for a third posting to Hong Kong. This time was so different, meeting missionaries, visiting the famous walled city, and meeting Christians from different countries. The Lord called them to work full time in His service and they were amazed at the doors He opened.  The Falklands War meant a change of plans. In 1990 Glynis went to Saudi Arabia as a British Aerospace wife she can assure us she did not cause the war!  They ran a fellowship with Bible Studies, Alpha and a weekly service for 10 years. They assumed when They left they would retire.  However, as founder members of BCF, they found that God had more for them to do.  Life as a Christian is never predictable and there is no retirement plan.

Says Cynthia “Jesus is my all in all and has carried me through many troubled times.”

Barbara Chadwick – Valley Fellowship

Barbara Chadwick is the Pastor of Valley Fellowship, based in the Jalon Valley.  She and her late husband, Jeff, founded the church in 2000 and began the English-speaking work with a handful of local ex Pats.  As it grew different venues were used and the church currently meets in Alcalali.

Barbara’s spiritual journey began at the age of 15 when, at a Youth for Christ meeting, she responded to a call to give her life to the Lord Jesus.  Although her church background in her youth was essentially Church of England, she later joined a Brethren church after her marriage to Jeff, and then a Pentecostal church.

A call to minister in Spain came in 1987 and so Jeff and Barbara moved to the Costa Blanca with their two sons.  This was just a taste of what was to come as they returned to the U.K. 3 years later, only to feel the tug of the Holy Spirit to return to Spain in 1999.

After being widowed for 6 years Barbara remarried and handed the work over, but due to family commitments, it has now been necessary for Barbara to again become Pastor of Valley Fellowship.
